Laboratories Russian version

The implementation of the REC project program is carried out using the modern training and scientific equipment including specialized laboratories of the following Faculties: Physics, Geology, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Mechanics and Informatics, Computer Sciences, as well as the teaching laboratories and scientific facilities of Scientific Research Institute of Mathematics, Scientific Research Institute of Geology, Scientific Research Institute of Physics, the Innovation Center of New Technologies, the Center of Shared Scientific Equipment, the Center of Computer Technologies, the Internet Center, etc.

The implementation of the project results in substantial upgrading of laboratories and instruments of scientific research. In the course of the REC functioning new unique scientific equipment is purchased. The Parallel Computing Center was opened and put into operation in VSU on the basis of financial resources of the REC. New training and scientific laboratories were opened and equipped with the modern equipment: laboratory of nonlinear dynamics of magnetically ordered media, laboratory of ferroelectric materials, laboratory of computer simulations, laboratory of acoustic diagnostics and seismic monitoring, laboratory of nanoscopy and nanotechnologies, laboratory of fiber-optical communication systems, the quantum theory of the information and quantum calculations, laboratory of open education.

On the REC basis scientific measurements are carried out, together with the development and mastering of new techniques of the modern scientific equipment application. It organizes work-shops, scientific seminars that involve broad audience of young researchers to the development of modern methods of the structural analysis, acoustic monitoring, chromatographic, spectral, biochemical methods of structure studies, and also physical and chemical, mechanical and chemical and biochemical properties of various substances.

The laboratory of the optical research methods is equipped with the SPECORD M82 spectrometer, spectrophotometers SF-26, SF-46, SF-56A, infrared Fourier-spectrometer Infra-LUM FE-02.

The SPECORD M82 spectrometer serves for studying absorption spectra, reflection of liquid, solid and gaseous samples in close and far infrared region in the range of wavelengths from 2,5 up to 50 µm. Its resolution is better than 0,8 cm-1. The SF - 56A spectrometer determines values of factors of directed transmission of liquid and solid transparent substances in the spectrum range from 190 up to 1100 nm. The device is used in physical and chemical, medical, biological research, and also for quality control of finished products in the flow process in electronic, chemical, microbiological, pharmaceutical and other industries.

Infra-red Fourier-spectrometer Infra-LUM FT-02 records absorption spectra of liquid and solid substances in a range 500 - 4500 cm-1 that allows to carry out the analysis of polymers, mixtures of organic compounds, semi-conductor materials, to determine the presence of micro-impurities, to investigate processes, mechanical and chemical transformations in sorbents with inclusion of water and physiologically active substances.

The laboratory of physical and chemical methods of research is equipped with the atomic absorption spectrometer “QUANTUM – Z. ETA” and with high efficiency liquid chromotograph "Millichrome-5-6".

Atomic-absorption spectrometer “QUANTUM – Z. ETA” allows to discover microscopic quantities of alkaline, alkaline-earth metals, as well as of silicon, germanium, arsenic and transitional elements – the complex formative agents in a sample. It can be used for research in the field of environment protection, in medicine, food production industry, and also in research of the influence of mineral salts on physical and chemical properties of physiologically active and medicinal substances, in studies of cell metabolism in vivo, for detecting structure of an active center in enzymes.
